Sectoral Hub Portugal

The Portuguese model is based on close collaboration between research centres, EDIHs, companies, startups, and public institutions.

Engagement within each hub is structured around:

• Co-creation of technical activities, including workshops and webinars;
• Access to HPC and data infrastructures (Deucalion, MareNostrum 5 and CNCA resources);
• Identification of sector-specific challenges and use cases;
• Exchange of knowledge and best practices;
• Provision of technical and scientific support to BSC AI Factory users;
• One-to-one strategic meetings with innovation agencies and key stakeholders;
• Participation in dissemination activities (e.g. podcasts and ecosystem events);
• Identification of synergies with national instruments.

Each hub acts as the primary point of contact for organisations within its sector, ensuring alignment with other activities and integration into the broader European AI Factories ecosystem.

The portuguese partners have been on the road with a series of workshops under the title "BSC AI Factory: Artificial Intelligence at the Service of Innovation” hosted by our partners and organized by FCT and CNCA:

• 10 April 2026: Bragança | in collaboration with the Municipality of Bragança and Brigantia Ecopark
• 15 June 2026: Guimarães| in collaboration with the Municipality of Guimarães
• 14 July 2026: Porto| in collaboration with UPTEC - Parque de Ciência e Tecnologia da U.Porto
