Regional HPC Nodes

The BSC AIF Regional Nodes provide a local entry point to the BSC AI Factory for startups, SMEs, enterprises, and public institutions across Spain and Portugal. They offer local and national resources for expert guidance, world‑class supercomputing and data resources, and a vibrant AI ecosystem, so small companies can grow their prototypes into commercial successes.

The Regional Nodes guide local organizations and stakeholders seeking to engage with the BSC AIF, with a direct understanding of the local market, and a vested interest in increasing the AI workforce and innovation capacity in their respective regions.

They do this through the following key functions:

• Identify organizations in the region that will gain the most from BSC AI Factory services.
• Offer AI advice to local startups, SMEs, and public sector organizations, and help them define clear, achievable goals.
• Present a catalogue of services that tap into BSC AI Factory expertise
• Provide and coordinate hands‑on support, including technical advice on AI
• Actively monitor local companies that access the BSC AIF's services and provide support throughout their participation

In their respective regions, the nodes will also work with local networks to create a continuous loop of knowledge exchange, joint opportunities, and collaborative growth.

BSC AIF Services are particularly targeted to SMEs, startups, and public sector organizations.

Small to Medium Enterprise’ or ‘SME’ refers to enterprises which employ fewer than 250 persons and which have an annual turnover not exceeding 50 million euro, and/or an annual balance sheet total not exceeding 43 million euro.

Public Sector Organizations are government entities or publicly funded organizations that provide services for the benefit of society (e.g., healthcare, transportation, public administration).
