Instructor's biography
- Andreia Gaudêncio is a Data Services Specialist at BSC AI Factory and CNCA – Centro Nacional de Computação Avançada. She holds a PhD in Biomedical Engineering and specializes in machine learning, biostatistics, and signal/image processing. Andreia has experience in Python, Matlab, and other computational tools, as well as teaching and supervising students.
- Irina Moreira (PhD) is a professor and researcher at the University of Coimbra, focusing on bioinformatics, molecular modeling, and artificial intelligence applied to biomedicine. She is the co-founder of PURR.AI, a Portuguese biotech company using AI to accelerate drug discovery, with a focus on age-related diseases. She leads research and technology transfer initiatives in data-driven drug discovery.
- Cátia Pinto is Head of Global Digital Health and International Affairs at SPMS, EPE, with an established career at the intersection of digital health, data governance, and international cooperation.
- Joana Feijó is Business Development Director at Health Cluster Portugal, with experience in business strategy and management consulting.
Course Description
This 90-minute online webinar focuses on real-world AI use cases in Healthcare in Portugal. The event aims to map the sector’s maturity, discuss practical barriers (data, adoption, regulation), and gather input to shape upcoming in-person workshops and hands-on challenges within the Health Hub (Lisbon and Guimarães). The session includes short presentations, case studies, and audience interaction through Q&A and quick polls.
