What You Will Learn

The students who finish this course will be able to understand the basics of the Computational Fluid Dynamics for industrial configurations, and how fluid simulations are intersecting with modern ML techniques and HPC.

Agenda

  • Session 1: General introduction to CFD: modeling, meshing and HPC
  • Session 2: Traditional Reduce Order Methods: from basic data sets to full scale CFD.
  • Session 3: On the use of machine learning techniques for building ROMs: from pure ML approaches to hybridizing traditional ROMs with DL.
  • Session 4: Augmentation of traditional turbulence models by means of ML.
  • Session 5: Towards exploiting deep reinforcement learning in fluid dynamics applications: flow control and topology optimization.
