573 customers, 696 services and 17 training programmes delivered across startups, SMEs, public administrations, and innovation ecosystems
The initiative BSC AI Factory (BSC AIF) has completed its first year of activity with results that reinforce its role as a key driver for the adoption of artificial intelligence across SMEs, startups, public administrations, and wider innovation ecosystems. Over the first 12 months of the project, the initiative has significantly exceeded most of its original targets, confirming the growing demand for AI-based services and solutions.
Among the most notable achievements is the engagement of a total of 573 customers using its services. In addition, BSC AIF has generated more than 10,500 prospective customers, driven by the active participation of all partners in events and exhibitions with particular emphasis on its participation in conferences like 4YFN and Web Summit.
“This first year, one of our main milestones has been the development of a catalogue of 24 specialised AI services,” says Mariona Sanz, Head of Innovation and Business Development at BSC and lead of the BSC AI Factory. “In total, 696 services have been delivered.” The initiative has also identified 1,200 collaboration and innovation opportunities, which are expected to be translated into future projects supported by the AI expertise and consultancy services of the BSC AI Factory.
Training and talent development have been another key pillar of this initiative. During the year, BSC AIF delivered 17 AI training courses reaching nearly 600 participants with a satisfaction rate of 85.44%, reflecting the high value perceived by attendees.
Following Mariona Sanz, “these results demonstrate the enormous potential of collaboration between the technological, business, and public sectors in the BSC AIF partner countries. In just one year, we have accelerated the adoption of artificial intelligence by bringing advanced capabilities closer to private and public companies and industrial sectors. Our goal is to continue promoting AI that is useful, accessible, and capable of delivering real impact for society and the economy.”
Looking ahead to its second year, the BSC AI Factory aims to further expand its collaboration network, continue generating leads and increase the range of advanced AI services available, with the objective of strengthening the European AI ecosystem, particularly by supporting SMEs, startups, and public administrations.
“In its second year, we aim to demonstrate that AI services can help organisations move from experimentation to deployment, delivering real impact across key industrial sectors. The focus will be on concrete use cases, with particular emphasis on public administration, helping to improve efficiency and strengthen Europe’s digital sovereignty through trusted and accessible artificial intelligence”, continues Sanz.
